Spectrum regulation is especially challenging in the Satcom domain, due to the potentially large areas that can be affected by a radio transmission. Regulatory input tells the radio if the available gaps in the spectrum can actually be used and under which conditions. SCREEN addresses regulatory issues in an integrated fashion from the definition of requirements and initial framework analysis, to the concept development, post-project exploitation and standardisation activities.
The regulatory advisory board will be a decision support body, which will provide advice and support from the regulatory point of view. These inputs will be used to align the technical decisions with the current European and International regulatory framework and vice versa, i.e. to understand how the project achievements can provide inputs for improving and adjusting the current legal scenario.
